چکیده
The present paper reports on the use of Modified Wöhler Curve Method (MWCM) applied along with nominal stresses to estimate lifetime notched additively manufactured metallic materials subjected constant and variable amplitude multiaxial fatigue loading. MWCM is by defining critical plane via direction that experiences maximum variance resolved shear stress. In this setting, owing fact stress a monodimensional quantity, cycles are counted directly using standard Rain-Flow method. Based large data set taken from literature, validation exercise being performed strongly supports idea used in conjunction successful estimating damage also 3D-printed constant/variable load histories.

Stochastic fatigue damage modeling under variable amplitude loading
A general methodology for stochastic fatigue life prediction under variable amplitude loading is proposed in this paper. The methodology combines a nonlinear fatigue damage accumulation rule and a stochastic S–N curve representation technique to achieve this objective. The nonlinear damage accumulation rule proposed in this paper improves the deficiencies inherent in the linear damage accumulat...
متن کاملPrediction of Fatigue Life on Lower Suspension Arm Subjected to Variable Amplitude Loading
This paper focuses on the finite element based fatigue life prediction of lower suspension arm, subjected to variable amplitude loading. The objectives of this study are to predict fatigue life of the lower suspension arm using stress-life and strain-life methods, to investigate the effect of the mean stress. The lower suspension arm was developed using computer aided design software. The finit...
متن کاملLifetime prediction of adhesive joints subjected to variable amplitude fatigue
Almost all structural applications of adhesive joints will experience cyclic loading and in most cases this will irregular in nature, a form of loading commonly known as variable amplitude fatigue (VAF). This paper is concerned with the VAF of adhesively bonded joints and has two main parts. In the first part, results from the experimental testing of adhesively bonded single lap joints subjecte...
متن کاملAnalyses of Fatigue and Fatigue-crack Growth under Constant- and Variable-amplitude Loading
Studies on the growth of small cracks have led to the observation that fatigue life of many engineering materials is primarily “crack growth” from micro-structural features, such as inclusion particles, voids, slip-bands or from manufacturing defects. This paper reviews the capabilities of a plasticity-induced crack-closure model to predict fatigue lives of metallic materials using “small-crack...
متن کاملFatigue Failure and Damage Analysis of an Anti-roll Bar Subjected to Fatigue Experiments
The available fatigue theories have been examined using simple specimens subjected to bending or tension-compression loads. Therefore, the stress fields have been generally one or two dimensional. Anti-roll bar is a component belongs to the suspension system of the vehicles. In spite of having simple circular section, due to the having several curvatures, this component experiences a three-dime...
